Style Guide : Cardigans

When people ask me what my favorite closet staples are, I can’t help but to include cardigans. Not only are cardigans are such a versatile piece, but they are timeless and a closet staple no matter the age of the shopper! There are so many that you can style a cardigan, take a look at my favorite ways below!

First, the tried and true jeans and cardigan combo can never fail. I love being able to have this combo as a go to option if I am in a rush, throw on some booties and a scarf and you look effortlessly put together! Whether I’m running errands or chasing after my boys, this outfit makes me feel ready to conquer my day!

I love cardigans with some kind of button or snap closure. I think it gives the outfit structure and can look really sleek and sophisticated with some black pants or moto leggings. I also love to undo a top button or two and have a criss cross cami or bralette peaking through if I want a little more of an evening look to go out with friends. The best part is you can wear an outfit like this to work and be completely covered up, but then undo a button and go to a happy hour with friends, it’s a win win for sure!

Another way I style my cardigans is with dresses and skirts. Although this takes a little more finesse, especially in the winter months, I still love this look. If you are worried about the cooler weather, throw on a pair of tights or some amazing knee high boots which are both super on trend right now. I love the simplicity of a solid color dress with a chunky knit cardigan to enhance the already sleek look. If you want something more fun, wear a patterned dress with a solid open front cardigan that pulls out a color in the dress or matches the shoes you plan on wearing. You can never go wrong, especially if you are adding in a solid!

With all of these combos, add a fun initial necklace, beautiful bracelet, or fun beanie and grab your coffee to go, you’ll be all set! What are your favorite ways to style a cardigan? Let me know, I always love to hear new ideas!

Crystal
